ESL Sheltered Instruction 1 (online)
Teachers will be introduced to techniques and strategies that will enhance curriculum and student learning in any environment. Techniques and strategies will help to support English Language Learners and will be based on the 6 Principles for Exemplary Teaching of English Learners.
Disclaimer: Teachers must complete both ESL Sheltered Instruction 1 and ESL Sheltered Instruction 2 in order to meet the Sheltered Instruction Requirement unless meeting the requirement via other options as listed in the Sheltered Instruction memo. The State EL/Title III Office would like to encourage teachers to continue to expand their knowledge of the WIDA ELD Standards Framework through the existing eLearning courses made available through the State EL/Title III Office or Complex Area (and future PD opportunities). Dates: November 27, 2023 through March 24, 2024 (Portfolio Due February 25, 2024)
Participants will receive instructions from the instructors on how to access course content prior to the start date of the course, information will be sent to the email that you have listed in PDE3 (most cases it is an @k12.hi.us email). The deadline to pay for this course is August 22, 2022
