The focus of this course is the Model Code of Ethics for Educators (MCEE). The MCEE is a tool for developing a proactive approach to ethical decision-making, guiding an educator’s daily practice when working with students, colleagues, and school communities.
The purpose of this online course is to develop an understanding of the Model Code of Ethics for Educators guiding you towards making ethical decisions. This course combines a competency-based approach with live and recorded webinars creating a professional learning community. To complete this class successfully, you will need to be rewarded the NEA micro-credential “Understanding Educator Ethics,” as well as attend all virtual and asynchronous classes, completing all related activities. This course was made possible by the collaboration between the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) and the Hawaii State Teachers Association (HSTA).
HOW TO REGISTER: Go to PDE3 and add your name to the waitlist. Pay your deposit through above; once you have paid your deposit, you will be moved from the waitlist and registered for the course. This can take up to 3 days since it is a manual process.

This online course will begin on December 1, 2022. Participants will receive instructions from the instructors on how to access course content prior to the start date of the course, information will be sent to the email that you have listed in PDE3 (most cases it is an @k12.hi.us email).
