Course Description:
PD Instructor: Shannon Eustace
Course Description:
The focus of this course is “Educator Ethics,” by way of using the Model Code of Ethics for Educators (MCEE). The MCEE is a tool for developing a proactive approach to ethical decision-making, guiding an educator’s daily practice when working with students, colleagues, and school communities.
The purpose of this online course is to develop an understanding of educator ethics, supporting your daily process of professional decision-making. This course combines a competency-based approach with live and recorded webinars creating a professional learning community, to assist you with achieving a National Education Association (NEA) Micro-Credential badge. To complete this class successfully, you will need to use the NEA rubrics to complete the artifacts listed in the NEA micro-credential, “Understanding Educator Ethics,” as well as attend the mandatory virtual and asynchronous classes, and completing all related activities. After completing this course, all participants will be encouraged to submit artifacts to NEA for Micro-Credential Badge scoring. Participants will not need to receive the NEA Micro-Credential badge, from NEA, to complete this course.
All work is due to instructor by July 11, 2023. Work is completed via Google classroom.
Live meeting sessions are 4pm to 6pm on the following dates:
