Early Reading Success: Multi-sensory Strategies to Accelerate Learning
This course will focus on phonological awareness and phonics instruction. You’ll learn to use songs to effectively and efficiently introduce, teach, and review concepts; create student-generated rubrics and assessments; promote inquiry; and foster a positive classroom atmosphere. It will help teachers with students who are reading on pre-K-2 levels, including upper-grade struggling learners and special education students, along with English Language Learners.
This class is restricted to classroom teachers with direct instructional responsibilities for Pre K-2 students.
Only HSTA members are eligible to take this course.
HOW TO REGISTER: Go to PDE3 and add your name to the waitlist. Once you have paid your deposit, you will be moved from the waitlist and registered for the course.

Dates: June 15, 2021 – January 7, 2022 (Portfolio deadline is December 6, 2021)
This course will require one virtual session and then the remaining course time will be a self paced online class. The deadline to pay for this course is Noon, June 8, 2021. Participants will be emailed instructions to access their online course.
