Multilingual Learners Micro-Credential (SIQ CREDIT ONLY)
The NEA Multilingual Learners Micro-Credential Stack is designed to build educators’ capacity to effectively support multilingual learners. This stack of 7 micro-credentials has been approved by the Hawaiʻi Department of Education as Option 6 for obtaining the Sheltered Instruction Qualification (SIQ). Through the stack, educators develop skills in advocating for multilingual students, applying culturally responsive instructional practices, and strengthening partnerships with families and caregivers. Participants also deepen their understanding of standards-based instruction and equitable assessment. Together, these competencies prepare educators to create learning environments that are inclusive, rigorous, and responsive to the strengths and needs of multilingual learners.
